Inpatient Treatment for Kids

Michiana Behavioral Health’s Acute Child Inpatient Program treats acute behavioral, psychiatric and emotional issues in children ages 6 to 12. Patients may be experiencing problems with mood disorders such as depression or bipolar disorder, but may also be exhibiting behavior that is self-destructive or harmful to others. Our program seeks to stabilize the most acute symptoms in the child, while also teaching them coping skills that will help them manage stressors and emotional triggers in ways they can maintain long term. Our treatment team works with families to construct an individualized treatment plan that focuses on the needs of each patient, targeting their most pressing needs while also ensuring that the patient has the right network for proper aftercare.
